Andrea LetalWe’re proud of our Alumni! Andrea Letal plays for the Championship winning University of Lethbridge Horns Women’s Rugby team and was recently featured as their female player of the week.

“Third-year wing, Andrea Letal was a key component in the Horns claiming their third consecutive Monilex trophy, defeating the St. FX X-Women 20-3. The Horns are only the second team in CIS rugby history to win three consecutive titles.

In the gold medal game Letal led the way scoring two tries and was named the CIS Championship MVP. She also scored a try in the Horns semi-final win over Guelph.

Her tough defence and kicking ability were key reasons as to why the Horns did not surrender a try the entire tournament.” (http://www.uleth.ca/horns/, Accessed on November 9, 2009)

Nicolas

Congratulations to Nicolas Méthot for earning first place at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs’ United Nations Pilgrimage for Youth Speech Competition on November 6.  We are extremely proud that Nicolas is following in the footsteps of former Speech and Debate member Matthew Atwood [2006 BCHS Graduate] by winning this prestigious award.  Nicolas’ prize includes a 12 day tour of United Nations-related sites in such destinations as Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and New York City this summer.  The Speech Club hopes to continue this successful tradition in the coming years.
