All That Jazz

All That Jazz

Q: “What’s ‘All That Jazz’?”

A: “All That Jazz is an amazing evening of performances and dancing, featuring well known local bands such as ‘Souls in Rhythm’ and ‘The Prime Time Big Band’ as well as our own ensembles; The Jazz Band and Vocal Jazz. This year the theme is “Christmas in New York”. There are tables of free food, a fantastic silent auction, and of course, great jazz music! It’s the Music Program’s biggest and most profitable fundraiser of the year, with the profits mostly going towards the Bishop Carroll Music Program’s big trip to New York City this April.”

Q: “How much are tickets?”

A: “Earlybird tickets are $15 each for students and seniors, and $20 each for adults. Make sure you buy your tickets before December 12th though, because all ticket prices increase by $5 on that day to $20 for students and $25 for adults!”

Q: “What type of music will I hear at All That Jazz?”

A: “You’ll hear many different styles and genres of music at All That Jazz. A variety of different Jazz styles, Funk, Blues, Soul, Pop, Folk and R&B will be heard from the different ensembles throughout the evening.”

Q: “Can I pay with debit?”

A: “No. Nick Turnbull tried this last year by going through the office, but it was a disaster. This year, we’re not accepting debit transactions. There’s many ATMs located across the street at the Farmer’s Market, or at Mount Royal College.”

Q: “Can I pay with a cheque?”

A: “Yes! We’re happy to accept personalized (has a printed name on it) cheques, but PLEASE ensure that the cheques are written for the right amount (i.e. pay before November 12th, or else you will need to additionally pay the $5 increase on every ticket.”

Q: “Is it only for students registered with the music program?”

A: “No, not at all! All That Jazz will be a blast for anyone who enjoys listening and dancing to great music. Anyone ages 9-90 will have a blast.”

Q: “Can I invite friends from other schools?”

A: “Absolutely! The more people that come to All That Jazz, the less your trip to New York is going to cost. Please remember to be sensible in inviting friends; we don’t want any people sneaking around the hallways (other than the 2nd floor) or being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”
